Analogue Telephone Adapters (ATAs) are devices that connect traditional analogue telephones, fax machines, and similar devices to a digital telephone system or a voice over IP telephony network.
An ATA bridges the technical gap between traditional analogue telephones and/or fax machines in homes and offices by digitising the analogue signal to make it suitable for allowing VoIP calls to pass through and be terminated. It allows you, the end-user, to benefit from a VoIP service i.e. by making crystal clear & cheap VoIP calls.
